  • Fort Leavenworth USD 207 Volunteer Application

     

    At the Fort Leavenworth School District, we encourage family members and sponsored unit volunteers to participate in our many engagement opportunities throughout the year.


    A volunteer is an individual who donates services and/or time for the benefit of the USD 207 community, without the expectation of compensation. Volunteers within USD 207 fall into two categories: school volunteers and service member volunteers.


    School volunteers are screened before each visit utilizing the Volunteer Management Component of Visitor Aware for entry access to each building. A Driver's License is required for this process. (A Military ID is not an approved form of identification for this system.)


    • Individuals interested in volunteering with USD 207 may begin the application process by:

      • Reviewing the USD 207 Volunteer Guidance

      • Viewing the Emergency Safety Interventions (ESI) Video

      • Completing the ESI Training Assessment - USD 207 Volunteer Form

      • Viewing the School Volunteers and FERPA Video from the US Department of Education

      • Submitting the USD 207 Visitor Aware Volunteer Application



      As a volunteer for USD 207, I understand and agree to the following:

      • Volunteer service is pre-approved by appropriate District personnel

      • Volunteering is a complementary service to the District without compensation

      • Student discipline is the responsibility of District staff

      • Physical restraint of a student is not acceptable

      • Transporting students is not permitted

      • I will sign in to the building utilizing Visitor Aware

      • I will always have a visible volunteer identification badge while volunteering

      • I will work with a certified staff member while at a school building or volunteering at a school-sponsored activity

      • I will treat all students the same, regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, disability, etc.

      • I will respect and maintain the confidentiality of our staff and students

      • I will not take photographs or make audio or video recordings of students

      • I will not give students gifts, rewards, or food items of any kind without the certified staff members' permission

      • I will not provide my personal contact information to any student, ask a student for their personal contact information or initiate any social activities with students

      • I will not make any comments to or about students that are based on anyone's personal characteristics, such as race, color, religion, gender, disability, etc.

      • I will not advocate or endorse any personal, political, or religious beliefs to students

      • I will contact appropriate school personnel when unable to volunteer

      • Violations of the volunteer expectations and/or board policies may make me ineligible to volunteer in the District


    By submitting this application, I acknowledge that I have read the Volunteer Guidance and understand the roles and expectations of volunteers in the Fort Leavenworth School District.


    By submitting this application, I acknowledge and understand that I may be removed from my volunteer role if my actions are not in the best interest of USD 207 students and staff.


    Volunteer applications must be renewed annually.
